When traveling it is always nice to take advantage of FREE! Many sights are outdoors, such as Trafalgar square, Piccadilly circus, the Trevi Fountain and the Jefferson memorial to name a few. But likewise, many museums are also free or only have a suggested donation. The British Gallery, the Tate Modern Gallery, the British Museum and the US Smithsonian are all examples of free museums that are chock full of amazing artifacts, artwork and history. Couple these with many historical churches or landmark bridges or parks and travelers can really enjoy many amazing sights with no entry fees. Again, as with most travel, the key to making the most of free is planning. Understanding times that these locations are open or accessible is also key to planning a travel day.
While parks, bridges, fountains allow for more space they can be mobbed with people so be safe as pickpockets love areas where people are jostled and bumped. Museums that are free may also have an app or location online where, they will display the current wait times for entrance. Getting up early or arriving later in the day can help avoid the peak 10 am to 2 pm crowds and increase your enjoyment.
